BREAKOUT SESSION

The Habit of Noticing

Nature Study & Journaling
Alongside Our Kids

Nature study begins with attention. Before we can name, identify, or record what we see, we have to learn to notice it. In a Charlotte Mason education, that attention is part of something larger: forming a relationship with the living world and learning to recognize the beauty and order of creation for ourselves.

In this hands-on session, we’ll practice simple observation skills together, learning to slow down, look closely, ask questions, and record what we discover. We’ll explore how nature study and journaling can become a shared practice with our children, and what that can realistically look like across different ages and abilities. Attendees will leave with practical tools and a take-home guide to help put these ideas into practice with their own families.
